South China University of Technology (hereinafter referred to as "South China University of Technology") is located in Guangzhou, Guangdong Province, directly under the Ministry of Education of People's Republic of China (PRC). It is a national key university determined by the Ministry of Education and the Guangdong Provincial People's Government. It ranks among the national "double first-class", "2 1 1 project" and "985 project".
Excellent engineer education and training plan, excellent legal talents education and training plan, new engineering research and practice project, national construction of high-level university postgraduate project, scholarship receiving institution of China government for overseas students, demonstration base of the Ministry of Education for studying in China, and the first batch of scientific and technological achievements transformation and technology transfer bases in colleges and universities.
As a member of the Eighth School of Architecture, the Union of Universities of Excellence, the Sino-Russian Union of Engineering Universities, the China-Europe Engineering Education Platform, the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Logistics and Supply Chain Innovation Alliance, and the Sino-British University Engineering Education and Research Alliance, it is the first batch of doctoral and master's degree awarding units in China and the first batch of universities jointly established by the Future Institute of Technology.
It is a comprehensive research university that is good at engineering, combines science and engineering, and develops harmoniously in management, economics, literature, law and medicine. South China University of Technology, formerly known as South China University of Technology, can be traced back to the first-class industrial school in Guangdong Province established in 19 18. 1952 was formally established, when the departments of colleges and universities in China were adjusted. It is based on the Institute of Technology of Sun Yat-sen University and the Institute of Technology of South China United University.
Based on the engineering departments and majors of Lingnan University Institute of Technology and Guangdong Institute of Technology, it was transferred to some engineering departments and majors of Hunan University, Zhonghua University in Wuchang, Wuhan Jiaotong University, Nanchang University and Guangxi University, and became one of the four major engineering schools in new China. 1960 became a national key university; 1988 was renamed South China University of Technology.
The school is divided into three campuses. Wushan Campus is located in Shipai College District, Tianhe District. The University Town Campus is located in Guangzhou University Town, Panyu District; Guangzhou International Campus is located in Innovation City, Panyu District.
