What was the basis of "aviation industry" in the early days of the People's Republic of China?
September 20 16 15 is the Mid-Autumn Festival, a traditional festival in China. China successfully launched Tiangong-2 Space Laboratory with the Long March II FT2 carrier rocket at Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center. This is the first real space laboratory in China, which indicates that China has the ability to build a space station and has entered the ranks of the world's space powers.

As we all know, it was more than 60 years ago that Qian Xuesen submitted the Opinions on Establishing China's National Defense Aviation Industry to the Central Committee (hereinafter referred to as the Opinions), which started the glorious course of China's space flight. In fact, before Qian Xuesen, some people suggested to the Central Military Commission and the State Council to develop missiles, and missiles were also developed in the early days of the founding of the People's Republic of China, but they all failed.

Then, why did the Central Committee immediately start the missile development project according to the basic contents submitted by Qian Xuesen in 1956? After 60 years, we might as well find out the reasons by analyzing the contents of the Opinions.

Little known is that before gaining state power, China recruited talents from home and abroad to develop the aviation industry.

1On May 4th, 949, Cao Richang (party member, a professor at the University of Hong Kong), who was doing secret liaison work in Hong Kong, wrote a letter to Qian Xuesen and sent it to him through Ge Tingyi (head of the American Central District of the China Association of Scientists Studying in the United States). In his letter, Cao Richang invited Qian Xuesen to return to China in the name of "head of northern industry" to lead the establishment of "aviation industry" in Northeast China or North China.
