Sichuan University, referred to as "Sichuan University", is located in Chengdu, Sichuan Province. It is a national key university directly under the Ministry of Education and the Central Government of People's Republic of China (PRC). It ranks among the national "double-class", "21project" and "985 project", and is selected into "Everest Plan", "201plan" and "165438 plan".

"Strong Foundation Plan", Excellent Engineer Education and Training Plan, Excellent Doctor Education and Training Plan, Excellent Legal Talents Education and Training Plan, National Postgraduate High-level University Construction Project and National Model University for Deepening Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education Reform are independent examination units authorized by degrees.

China Graduate School is a member of the Dean's Association, a member of the medical "double first-class" construction alliance, and an independent university. It is a high-level research-oriented comprehensive university with national layout and key construction in the west.

The school was formed by the merger of Sichuan University, Chengdu University of Science and Technology and West China University of Medical Sciences. The former Sichuan University was founded by Lu, the governor of Sichuan Province, during Guangxu period. It is the earliest modern institution of higher learning in southwest China.

The former Chengdu University of Science and Technology was the first batch of multidisciplinary engineering colleges established during the adjustment of departments in New China. The predecessor of the former West China University of Medical Sciences was the West China Sheikh University, which was founded by the Western Christian Church in Chengdu on 19 10. It is the earliest Western-style university in southwest China and one of the earliest universities in China to train graduate students.

1994, the former Sichuan University and the former Chengdu University of Technology merged into Sichuan United University, and 1998 restored the name of Sichuan University. In 2000, it merged with the former West China University of Medical Sciences to form a new Sichuan University.

As of June 5438+ 10, 2023, the school has three campuses, namely Wangjiang, Huaxi and Jiang 'an, covering an area of 7,050 mu, with a building area of 282 1.800 square meters. Meishan Campus is under construction. There are 6,794 teaching and research posts, with more than 37,000 full-time undergraduates and 29,000 doctoral students.
