This experience post probably introduces my postgraduate entrance examination process from the following aspects, hoping to give some suggestions to students who are still struggling to choose a major and those who don't know how to prepare.
Reasons for cross-examination
Reasons for choosing a school

Reasons for cross-examination:
In my opinion, there are at least two factors to consider when choosing a cross-examination major.
The first is to think about the relationship between the cross-examination major and the original major: why not choose to continue studying for the graduate students of the original major? Is it because the cross-examination major has better employment prospects than the original major? Or can you better combine the advantages of the original major after studying the cross-examination major? It can be found that the first factor is related to very realistic aspects.
If we don't consider the "utility" of the major, we can consider the second factor: the interest and yearning for the cross-examination major. I think that if you want to teach yourself a new major in a short time, then this time-"interest is the best teacher". As we all know, the process of postgraduate entrance examination is hard, so a good attitude can be called a reliable guarantee, so your love and yearning for this major can help alleviate the depression and anxiety in preparing for the exam to some extent.
Therefore, in combination with my undergraduate major, I chose "International Relations Major". Fortunately, this major seems to meet the above two factors at the same time: first, as a political science major under the law category, the employment space of international relations is larger than that of foreign language majors, and the subject content of international relations can also make good use of my undergraduate major. For example, my small language ability can make me understand Russian professional documents. Secondly, I have been interested in history since high school, and the compulsory content of international relations major includes the subject of "History of International Relations". So fortunately, my major meets two factors at the same time.
Reasons for choosing a school:
I chose East China Normal University because my undergraduate major is Russian. The School of International Relations of East China Normal University has always taken Russia as its main research field. The Russian Research Center of East China Normal University is the key research base of humanities and social sciences of the Ministry of Education, so the faculty and scientific research resources are the top level in China. At the same time, East China Normal University is also a 985 key institution, which is located in Shanghai, a city full of opportunities. These factors can provide me with a better development platform than undergraduate majors, colleges and cities.
Exam preparation experience
At present, the international relations major of East China Normal University has been affiliated to the "Political Science Major-Direction 4 Regional Relations between Countries and Great Powers" under the School of Politics and International Relations. The assessment contents of the two specialized courses are shown in the figure, and the recommended bibliography has been listed in official website for your reference.

I. Professional courses
Over the years, the real questions of professional courses usually consist of three parts: (1) noun explanation, (2) short answer questions and (3) essay questions. In some years, there may be only one kind between noun explanation and short answer questions, but there are always essay questions.
1, Principles of Political Science 644
The three professional books are studied in the order of (1) Introduction to Political Science, (2) Contemporary China Government and Politics, and (3) Comparative Political Science.
My professional courses came into contact earlier, starting at the end of last year, when there was still a whole year and a few months before the postgraduate entrance examination. Therefore, regarding the study of "Introduction to Political Science", my suggestion is that the first time mainly lies in reading, rather than beginning to recite. The purpose is to form a general framework of political science. This framework can be based on the catalogue of books, and in the process of reading, more detailed subtitles will be refined on the basis of the catalogue. It took me about a month to understand the contents of this book, to cultivate my "political thinking" and to appreciate the charm of political science.
In addition, because Introduction to Political Science is still a textbook, knowledge points will be very dense, and some students may find it difficult to get in at first. Here is another book, Fifteen Lectures on Political Science, which I used at that time. Different from the theorization and scholarship of Introduction to Political Science, this book explains the basic problems and principles of political science more easily and easily, and is suitable as an introductory book.
After having a preliminary understanding of political science, I will start reading the last two books, Contemporary China Government and Politics and Comparative Politics. Because they focus more on political science research and study more specific problems, we can better understand the contents of these two books with the previous foundation.
After reading the first grade, the next step is to start the exam. My suggestion is to make good use of the real questions of the past years. First of all, through the study of real questions over the years, we can understand which chapters are the focus of the exam and delimit the scope for the later recitation. We can find that some questions have even been tested several times. Secondly, if some real questions have the answers of seniors and sisters, then according to the research on the reference answers of real questions over the years, we can master the answer format (for the liberal arts majors in political science, the most basic answer format is scoring! ! ! ), what other fixed words can be used for your own reference, and what words in the textbook can be used.
2. Specialized Course 2: Political Science Synthesis 809?
This specialized course is a newly revised course in the examination syllabus. Although there are some adjustments, we can still do some analysis based on previous experience. For the bibliography provided by the school, due to the change of the examination syllabus, it is not consistent with the bibliography recommended by me when preparing for the exam, so it is impossible to give the specific study period and reference date. However, I still recommend the learning method of "read through first, then understand, then sort out, then recite", which is the same as the preparation process of the above 644 political science principle course. Moreover, the learning steps of the three professional books are still from shallow to deep. My suggestion is to start studying in the order of (1) Yale University: political philosophy, (2) international politics, and (3) concise principles of political communication.
Secondly, I pay attention to the scope of the examiner. I can be divided into the following parts: (1) theory of international relations, (2) international politics, (3) political thoughts and (4) analysis of international hot issues. In particular, the topic of the fourth part usually requires you to think and analyze the current international situation on the basis of the knowledge of the first three parts, so it should also be part of the discussion questions on the examination paper of this professional course.
For the first part, in addition to reference books, I recommend reading Qin Yaqing's Power, System and Culture in order to help study and understand. In the theoretical part, Mr. Qin deeply explained and analyzed the three schools of international relations theory-realism, liberalism and constructivism, and critically thought about each theory. In the part of methodology, he involved China's international political thought with characteristics. Combined with the above picture, we can see that they are all in line with the scope of the initial test required by the school.
In addition to these dead knowledge points, I think a very important part of this professional course is the practical application of knowledge points-analysis of international hot issues. Of course, this analysis is based on the professional knowledge of international relations first, and then I think this part of learning lies in the accumulation of daily life. Therefore, it is very helpful to pay more attention to the ongoing international events and understand the changes in the current international situation during the postgraduate entrance examination. In order to improve this quality, my suggestion is to watch more international news. We recommend the CCTV 13 program "Deep International" and the observer series "Yu Yi Morality" and "Xuanjiang". In addition to these videos, there are also radio programs, such as "Dong Qiang Xi Diao" in the podcast. But the point is to form your own thinking. The views of these programs are not true, but only provide some thinking angles. The purpose is to learn some facts and expand one's knowledge by watching and listening to these programs.
In addition, according to the analysis of international hot issues, there is also a suggestion to go to HowNet and search the latest literature by subject. By analyzing the structure and conclusion of the literature, it is helpful to provide ideas and perspectives for answering questions.
In addition, unlike the previous examination scope, the new scope does not include the history of international relations. However, 10,000 open courses on the history of international relations are recommended here, which can be regarded as a video while eating, just like the programs recommended above. This is probably a necessary leisure way to study international relations. Moreover, this open class also involves the theory of international relations, which is still the content of the exam.
In the summer vacation before my senior year in college, I probably finished the first round of reciting specialized courses. I think the focus of the first round of recitation is the scope, not the details, and some places are only reserved for the second recitation. When reciting for the second time, the first thing to do is to take out a blank paper, or create a new blank document, type with a pen or computer, list the knowledge framework according to your own memory, and then recall the specific content according to the framework. At this time, you can find out what you have recited, what you have not recited, and what you have not recited will be remembered in this recitation. When I read all the contents for the second time, it was almost 165438+ October. If there is still time before the exam, I will start the third time in the same way as the second time.
The following is my review plan at that time:
1912-March 20th (four months): It's the first time to read the specialized course textbooks.
April 20-July 20 (four months): one round of recitation for specialized courses.
August 20-June 65438+1October 20 (three months): dictation framework of specialized courses+second recitation of missing parts.
20 years 1 1-65438+ 2 months before the exam (two months): dictation framework for specialized courses+checking for missing parts and three recitations.
Second, foreign languages?
When preparing for the exam, I chose Russian instead of English as my foreign language. However, in the latest examination syllabus of China Normal University, it is no longer possible to take exams in small languages, and only English can be chosen. Therefore, minority language candidates lack some advantages. After all, small language papers and English are not at the same level of difficulty. However, the following suggestions are universal for all students majoring in international relations who can still choose Russian to take the exam.
I started to review Russian at the end of September, 2000. I only reviewed it for about two months, but I still got a considerable 85 points, which won me more time to prepare for professional courses. Such a high rate of return is mainly due to this reference book.
The difficulty of the Russian entrance examination paper is between TEM-4 and TEM-8, and the simplest part belongs to reading, so it doesn't take much time to prepare. The difficulty lies in the cloze part, and there are many grammatical points. My suggestion is to start with the real title of this book, do all the cloze included and recite every grammatical point, because some test sites will appear many times.
In addition, in the use of this reference book, in addition to the cloze questions over the years, the confusing words in the vocabulary topics in the book and the induction of common fixed phrases are also very helpful for cloze scores. At the same time, according to the number of 100 words included in the vocabulary topic, I just finished reviewing Russian words in 60 days. These words don't need to be spelled by heart, just need to know, but they are very helpful for reading and translation. For the last part of the composition on the test paper, I suggest memorizing more four model essays and memorizing more example sentences.
My schedule from June 5438+00 to June 5438+02, 2020 is almost as follows:
Learn a set of real questions over the years every week (mainly cloze)
One's deceased father grind 100 words every day.
Third, politics.
My political preparation began in September, and the reference materials are mainly two books: Xiao Xiurong's exercise book and Xu Tao's video lesson.
First of all, start with the video lesson, focusing on the horse principle and the special part of Mao Zhong. Shi Gang and Hughes don't need to spend time in class. At the same time, the video classroom is also equipped with Xiao Xiurong's "intensive reading and concise teaching". After learning the knowledge points, strike while the iron is hot, or wait until the next day to do the multiple-choice question "1000" corresponding to the latest chapter. Mark the wrong questions and brush them again.
After the foundation is laid, 1 1 will enter the sprint stage. First, you will receive small 8's paper, and small 8 will focus on multiple-choice questions, and recite the knowledge points of multiple-choice questions after completion. Subjective questions can be ignored or looked at. In February, 65438, I received Xiao 4, not only memorizing multiple-choice test sites, but also memorizing subjective answers! ! ! (The real questions of that year were all made of exactly the same materials, so be sure to recite them well! )
September-June, 2020, 65438+2020 1 October:1,watching video lessons in Xu Tao; 2. Xiao Xiurong's Exquisite+1000 topic
2020165438+1October: Xiao Xiurong's "Sprint 8 Volumes"
65438+February 2020: Xiao Xiurong's Final Forecast Volume 4.
Summary:
The above is my review and summary of the postgraduate entrance examination process, focusing on the analysis of professional courses. In addition to knowledge, the postgraduate entrance examination also has a mentality. So before the final result comes out, I hope you don't rush to deny yourself, and wish the first world war a success!
