University: refers to a higher education institution that provides teaching and research conditions and authorizes the award of degrees. There are two teaching methods: full-time and part-time. College: mainly refers to institutions of higher learning with few disciplines and strong professionalism. A college can be an independent school, or it can be an independent college established by ordinary colleges and universities in cooperation with social organizations or individuals other than state institutions.

At present, undergraduate colleges in China are divided into universities and colleges, and the Ministry of Education has very specific regulations on the difference between universities and colleges.

According to the Interim Provisions on the Establishment of Ordinary Colleges and Universities issued by the Ministry of Education on September 28th, 2006 (J.F. [2006] 18) and the Opinions of the Ministry of Education on the Establishment of Ordinary Colleges and Universities during the Eleventh Five-Year Plan period issued by the Ministry of Education on September 26th, 2006 (J.F. [2006] 17),

University: The number of full-time students is more than 8,000, and the number of graduate students is not less than 5% of the total number of full-time students. College: The number of full-time students should be more than 5,000.

In the humanities (philosophy, literature, history), social sciences (economics, law, education), science, engineering, agriculture, medicine, management and other disciplines, universities should have 1 or above as the main disciplines, and universities should have more than 3 disciplines as the main disciplines.

The main subject category called college should cover more than 3 majors in this subject category; Ordinary undergraduate majors in the major disciplines called universities should be able to cover more than three first-level disciplines in this discipline.

Full-time undergraduate students in all professional disciplines shall not be less than 15% of the total number of full-time undergraduate students in our school, and there shall be at least two master's degree awarding points, and the total number of general undergraduate majors in our school shall be more than 20.
