Northwest University is a 2 1 1 university, not a 985 university. The school has three campuses: Taibai Campus, Taoyuan Campus and Chang 'an Campus, covering a total area of more than 2,360 mu. At present, there are 24 colleges (departments), 1 Chinese-foreign cooperatively-run schools and graduate schools, and 89 undergraduate majors, of which 32 have been selected as national first-class undergraduate specialty construction sites.

At present, the school has 24 first-level disciplines authorized by doctor's degree, 36 first-level disciplines authorized by master's degree, and 17 professional degree authorization categories. At present, there are 1 national key disciplines (covering 5 two disciplines), 4 two disciplines national key disciplines and 1 national key disciplines (training), and 24 post-doctoral research stations.

The school has 1 provincial department * * to build a national key laboratory cultivation base, 1 provincial department * * * to build a collaborative innovation center and 80 provincial and ministerial scientific research bases. There are more than 3000 faculty members.
