Guizhou University of Finance and Economics, founded in 1958 and originally named Guizhou University of Finance and Economics on 20 12, was renamed with the approval of the Ministry of Education. It is a training base for economic management talents in Guizhou Province, which is built by the Guizhou Provincial Party Committee and the provincial government.

Professor Hong Yinxing, a famous economist, winner of "Sun Economics Award" and former Party Secretary of Nanjing University, served as honorary president of Guizhou University of Finance and Economics.
