Kansai College was founded in 1889 by Walter Russell Lambuth, a missionary of Southern Methodist Church in the United States. Based on Christianity, it trains missionaries and educates young people on Christian spirit. His life, as the memorial hall of Lanhuade family said, is a life spent by a "Christian as a citizen of the world" in dedicating himself to the world.
