The Department of Planning Statistics of Xiamen University was formerly the Department of Statistics of School of Finance and Economics of Xiamen University, which was founded in 1950. At present, there are two undergraduate majors in statistics (including economic statistics and investment decision analysis), information management and information system, four master's programs in statistics, quantitative economics, national economics and economic information management, as well as doctoral programs in statistics and national economics and post-doctoral research stations, with more than 500 students. There are 33 faculty members in the whole department, including three teaching and research sections of statistics, economic information management and investment economics, and National Economics and Accounting College.
