Two public universities. According to official website, Zunyi Medical College is located in Zunyi City, Guizhou Province. It is the first medical undergraduate college founded by China Production Party after the victory of War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression, and the second provincial public college. It is a university jointly established by the National Health and Wellness Committee and the People's Government of Guizhou Province, a national university for basic capacity building in the central and western regions, the first batch of national pilot universities for excellent doctoral education and training programs, and the first batch of national pilot universities for reforming the training mode of medical master's degree graduates. Guizhou, referred to as "Qian" or "Gui" for short, is a provincial administrative region of People's Republic of China (PRC), located in the southwest hinterland of China.
