Officers must have more than 3 years of military work experience (including on-the-job training time after graduation, as of September of the year of admission 1 day); To apply for the National Defense University (excluding the Political College, the Joint Logistics College, the Military Culture College and the Military Operations Research) and the military graduate students of the Academy of Military Sciences (excluding the first-level disciplines of military thought and military history), you must have the rank of major or above.

The application conditions are:

(1) Postgraduates who apply for military command colleges, political colleges of National Defense University, and joint logistics colleges (excluding first-class disciplines such as military thought and military history) must have the rank of captain or above.

(2) Military postgraduate students are only allowed to recruit command and management officers with the rank of captain or above, and on-the-job cadres are not allowed to apply for master's or doctoral students.

(3) In addition to the "Strengthening the Army Plan", in principle, on-the-job cadres will no longer be arranged to study for graduate students in local universities and scientific research institutions.

1. There are three graduate enrollment units directly under the Central Military Commission, namely National Defense University, Academy of Military Sciences and National University of Defense Technology. Other institutions are managed by the army, navy, air force, rocket army, war support and joint logistics support forces.

2. Postgraduate military schools include: PLA National Defense University, PLA National University of Defense Technology, PLA Army Engineering University, PLA Strategic Support Force Information Engineering University, PLA Army Service College and other service colleges.
