The College of Foreign Languages has been firmly grasping the key link of CET-4, constantly pushing foreign language teaching to a new stage, and there has been a gratifying scene of the vigorous development of foreign language teaching in this school. CET-4 has always been among the best in Heilongjiang Province, and the passing rate of CET-4 in Russian and Japanese has been above 85% year after year, ranking first in the country, which is highly praised by the State Education Commission and the Education Commission of Heilongjiang Province. The national seminar on foreign language teaching in colleges and universities was held in our school. Comrade Zhou, vice minister of education and former director of higher education department, personally attended the meeting and spoke highly of the foreign language teaching in our school.

Teachers of the Foreign Languages Institute have been studying hard in the fields of British and American literature, linguistics, foreign language teaching methods, cultural exchange, foreign language grading and network experimental teaching, CET-4 and CET-6, and English majors' CET-4 and CET-6 counseling. In recent years, they have published nearly 100 books and more than 200 papers in language journals at home and abroad, and won excellent teaching achievement awards in Heilongjiang Province and schools.
