Introduction:
Jinan University, referred to as JNU for short, is the first overseas Chinese university founded by the state in China, directly under the leadership of the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council, and is known as "the first overseas Chinese school in China". Our school is one of the key universities under the national "2 1 1 project" and "985 project", and it has been selected into the national "1 1 plan", "201plan" and "excellent doctoral education and training plan".
The word "Jin 'an" comes from the article "Shangshu Gong Yu": "The east is gradually in the sea, the west is in quicksand, and the south is combined, and the sound teaches the world." It means facing South Asia and spreading Chinese culture. The school's predecessor was Jinan School, which was founded in Nanjing in the Qing Dynasty at 1906. Later, it moved to Shanghai, and 1927 was renamed as National Jinan University. During his stay in War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression, he moved to Jianyang, Fujian. 1946 moved back to Shanghai. /kloc-0 was merged into Fudan University and Jiaotong University in August, 949. It was rebuilt in Guangzhou in June, 1958, and the board system was implemented.
