The Institute of Physical Education of Jimei University was formerly known as Fujian Institute of Physical Education, 1958 was founded in Fuzhou, and 1959 was transformed into Fujian Institute of Physical Education in September, covering an area of 160 mu. 1983 was identified as one of the second batch of institutions of higher learning in China to award bachelor's degrees. 1994 10, five colleges in Jimei Xue Cun merged to form Jimei University, and Fujian Institute of Physical Education became one of them. The majors offered by the Institute of Extended Information include physical education, traditional national sports, social sports and sports training. The academic system is mainly four-year undergraduate.
