At the beginning of the establishment of West Lake University, he said that in five years, West Lake University will be on an equal footing with the North, and 15 years will not lose to Caltech.

However, because the school official website said that it would formally recruit undergraduates in 2022, it also sent a message to the outside world that this private university with huge investment is starting its own era.
It is reported that the school recruits students in two standards. One is to imitate foreign enrollment standards through independent selection. The other is to require 1 province to have five subject competitions, choose the combination of physics and chemistry, and select students with excellent comprehensive performance. This selection standard is similar to that of Tsinghua, China University of Science and Technology and Southeast University.
