First, school profile:
University of South China is a multi-disciplinary university formed in May 2000 by the merger of Central South Institute of Technology, which was originally affiliated to the Ministry of Nuclear Industry, and Hengyang Medical College, which was originally affiliated to Hunan Province. In June 2002, the Sixth Research Institute of Nuclear Industry, which was originally affiliated to the Ministry of Nuclear Industry, was merged into South China University.
As of March 2022, the school has two campuses, Hongxiang and Yumu, with a total book resource of more than 3.45 million volumes, including 2.07 million paper books, more than 2,400 Chinese and foreign paper periodicals, 25 directly affiliated colleges, 23 cooperative postgraduate training units and 72 undergraduate majors.
The school has 26 master's degree authorization points, 9 categories of master's degree authorization points1,5 doctor's degree authorization points, 3 post-doctoral research stations, 36,277 full-time undergraduates, 65 doctoral students13, 465 international students, 40 clinical teachers and other teachers15.
Second, the teaching conditions:
By March, 2022, the school has national platforms 12, such as the national demonstration base for training innovative talents in combination with nuclear medicine, the collaborative innovation center established by the Ministry of Nuclear Fuel Cycle Technology and Equipment, the national demonstration base for international scientific and technological cooperation in nuclear energy and nuclear safety, and the national local joint engineering research center.
By March 2022, the school has undertaken more than 3,500 scientific research projects such as planned projects, major projects of the Ministry of Science and Technology, national R&D key projects, major research projects of the National Natural Science Foundation/key international cooperation research projects of joint funds, research fund projects of foreign senior scholars, basic research projects of national defense, and special projects of nuclear energy development.
By March 2022, the school has established cooperative relations with 35 domestic and foreign universities and scientific research institutions, including the International Atomic Energy Agency, Cambridge University, Harding University and Australian National University. The school's education for international students has passed the quality certification of education and management of studying in China by China Education International Exchange Association.
