Personal profile

When Li Guangchun was studying in Luxun Academy of Fine Arts in his early years, he studied under his tutor Mr. Wang Shenglie. What he learned from Wang Shenglie was not the specific painting skills, but the spirit that Mr. Wang dared to pursue artistic innovation. From his early graduation creation, we can see that he is good at expressing his personality and trying to get rid of the shackles of academic realism skills. Since then, he has been eager to express his thoughts freely.

10 years later, Li Guangchun's works have mysterious charm, strong, full, implicit and rich inside information, which makes the viewer enter a world of image painting between reality and illusion that transcends time and space. Based on the traditional Zen aesthetics, his works have created a new way in the field of oriental painting through painstaking thinking and research. The expression and spiritual connotation of his works have attracted the attention of oriental painting circles. His works have changed from early figuration to present image painting. Based on Laozi's thought of "elephant invisibility" and China's theory of image aesthetics, he tried to express modern oriental painting with a new visual consciousness. Therefore, his works follow the innovation of archaism and form in theory, not only from the beautiful appearance of the image, but from the "meaning" containing the inner spirit, showing the concrete world of verifiable things and combining the world that cannot be verified in memory. Therefore, it can be said that he embodies his new image painting by flexibly using the infinite and uncertain ideas of images.

During his many years of artistic career, Li Guangchun exhibited, published and published a large number of works and articles based in China and East Asia all over the world. He has held 23 solo exhibitions in Tokyo, Seoul, Beijing and France, and has also paid academic visits to art galleries, museums and modern art centers in new york, Washington, Los Angeles, Paris, Rome, Madrid, Barcelona, Sydney and Taipei. Participated in 150 group exhibitions and published hundreds of works in newspapers and periodicals at home and abroad. His published monographs include Li Guangchun's Painting Collection, Li Guangchun's Reception Exhibition Collection, Li Guangchun's Selected Ink and Wash Figures in Li Guang Spring, Li Guangchun's Exhibition Collection in 2000, Li Guangchun's 2003, Li Guangchun's 2005, Li Guangchun's 2007 and Images of Our Times. There are dozens of singles.

1984 won the bronze award of the 6th National Art Exhibition, 1985 Heilongjiang Federation of Literary and Art Circles Special Contribution Award, 1985 Heilongjiang Federation of Literary and Art Circles Grand Prix Award, 1985 Heilongjiang Art Exhibition Excellence Award, 1987 Korea-China-Japan Elite Writers Exhibition Award.

Li Guangchun's works have been collected by China Art Museum, China Art Fair, Xuan Art Center, White Elephant Art Museum, Shanzai Art Museum, Korean Art Gallery, Korea Daily and many other industries, as well as UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, former IOC President Samaranch, South Korean President Lee Myung-bak, former US President George H.W. Bush and former South Korean President Kim Dae-jung. In addition, many presidents of financial and enterprise groups and celebrities in politics, culture and sports have collected his works. His works have also won a high reputation in Europe, saying that he felt a potential oriental charm in his paintings. In his image painting, which is hidden in his temperament and contained in his taste, it obviously comes from his traditional artistic accomplishment in China, especially in France, where many customers and people in the industry have collected all his exhibition works and highly praised them.

As a painter and a teacher who cultivates artistic talents, Li Guangchun studied at the Art College of Gyeonggi-do University in Seoul and now lives in South Korea.

Character review

After Li Guangchun won the bronze medal in the 6th National Art Exhibition held in 1984 _, his name was known to the art world. But perhaps because he went abroad to study when he made his mark in the painting world, he rarely returned to China to participate in painting activities, and his name has made the domestic painting world somewhat strange. Because of his "disappearance", we don't know much about his recent situation, but fortunately, during this period, he never gave up his artistic world, but explained through a lot of works that it was the golden age of his creation. It can be described as "Heaven rewards diligence"-through holding 23 solo exhibitions and1more than 50 group exhibitions, I have demonstrated my energy, expanded my popularity and influence overseas, and promoted China art, which has attracted much attention.

A few years ago, I went to Japan as an international student, and then I visited Korea as a visiting scholar at the invitation of Korea Daily. Later, he returned to China to participate in the China Art Fair and the exhibition organized by China Foreign Exhibition Company, and then went to Korea to be a professor at the Art University of Gyeonggi University. During this period, he stayed in Seoul and devoted himself to research and creation. As the local media reported the achievements and influence of this artist from China many times, he made many friends in painting, culture, finance, education and other fields, but he tried to minimize the negative impact on his creation due to his participation in social activities. Talking about these years of study and work life, he said; "Painting focuses on performance rather than performance. In the end, you have to speak with your own works. There is no need to be too ostentatious." Therefore, he tries to live in seclusion in a low-key state and minimize entertainment unrelated to creation.

Therefore, it can be said that Li Guangchun's creative activities in recent years are basically abroad, and South Korea is similar. However, these years' efforts have finally paid off. He is diligent and shrewd, has created hundreds of works, published many books and published various personal exhibitions. What is striking is his painting concept, expression form and continuous exploration of plastic arts, which makes his works, whether ink or modern colored ink or oil painting, bring powerful artistic effects to people. Talking about the new work of the doctoral degree exhibition exhibited in 2009, Park Yong-taek, a famous Korean art critic, thinks that "Li Guangchun strives to have the aesthetic consciousness of images through his works, constantly seeks the differences and variability between eastern and western paintings, and compromises the charm of eastern painting and the modeling experiment of western European painting, and adopts extremely free freedom in the choice of expression forms, techniques and themes; It either contains the opposition between tradition and modernity, or contains the compromise between the two, or strives for the combination of the two. "

In these unknown years, Li Guangchun insisted on his own painting concept and tried to show the alienation of human existence. As an artist, he got the feedback he deserved, and his paintings were well received by collectors. People pay attention to him not only because of his paintings, but also because of his courage and endurance in facing reality. However, artists in today's consumer age can hardly avoid vulgarity. On the one hand, they use art to resist vulgarity, on the other hand, it is difficult to stop entertainment unrelated to creation. Interestingly, experts say that his ink figure paintings have a certain level of "escape", but he thinks that only after being collected can they be "competent" ink portraits of business celebrities. From this, we can see the adaptation of Li See Guangchun to the commercialized society. He is well aware that the spread of works of art now depends on the promotion of commerce, and believes that works of art should be displayed and raised in price by entering the commodity market. But at the same time, he also maintained his own bottom line. No matter how praised by the outside world, he still takes it lightly with a normal heart and devotes himself to the creation of image painting that he cares about and pursues.

Li Guangchun's achievement not only comes from his artistic talent, but also lies in his persistence in artistic ideas. This is a bet on the journey of art and life. As he said, "The benefits of commodity painting are mixed. Happily, according to the foundation, it will be able to "pay for rights". Sadly, the topic of hard work has not been widely recognized in a positive sense. It is not difficult to find that he keeps telling himself. Based on this, people have every reason to believe that Li Guangchun will make greater achievements. (Tony)

Style of works

The biggest feature of Li Guangchun's recent works is "expressing feelings through images". The "image" mentioned here is only the degree of "borrowing". He quoted Wang Bi, an aesthete in Wei and Jin Dynasties, as saying, "... so the speaker was so clear about this image that he forgot to say it. Elephants are so obsessed with meaning that they are proud to forget it. " And "an elephant is born of meaning and exists as an image, so what exists is not its image." Words are born in images, and if they exist in words, then they are not words. However, those who forget the image are proud of it, and so are those who forget the words. It can be seen that his painting art theory is based on China's traditional Zen aesthetics.

Due to Li Guangchun's emphasis on this traditional aesthetic theory, it is not difficult to find that his works have changed from early figurative painting to present image painting. Recently, I continued to paint two series of works, Fracture and Infinite Pursuit. If the series Fracture reveals the destruction and disappearance of fine traditions through pictures, it will sigh, implying the relationship between yesterday and today. Then, the series "Endless Pursuit of the Same" is to show the female body, bubbles and the remaining white pictures that are falling apart, and to contrast that the beauty of women will disappear like bubbles in an instant, suggesting the realistic process of today and tomorrow, and revealing the time process of disintegration, division or splicing of things. It is a methodology to reveal the reality that traditional culture and its modern cultural spirit have also been challenged or destroyed.

So "infinity" means "infinity of change". Bi _ expresses the irregular flying white stripes that will disappear, just like its symbols in the long river of history, everything will be replaced or disappeared, and expounds that things will change endlessly, but _ has no eternal extremes and invariance. The subtext of "seeking constancy" means "seeking eternity". Although everything in the world is ever-changing, as human beings, we can't change piteously and thoughtlessly, but should stick to its ultimate unchanging value-pursuing eternal goodness and beauty. Therefore, instead of painting the human body, he wrote his inner monologue in body language, from which it is not difficult to find that his works have mysterious and powerful characteristics. Then, in his seemingly distorted portraits, there is silence and quiet thinking, and nameless loneliness permeates the atmosphere of the whole picture. Here you can quote his own words, which shows the tendentiousness of his works; "I prefer spicy food to sweet food, and I prefer tragic color to comedy in literature, because it will have endless aftertaste." He wrote his feelings with silence and expressed his artistic conception with images. Liu Zaiji, a famous Korean art critic from Hony University, commented on his works. "With great endurance, he showed the scars of precious heritage and the helpless position of an artist. He felt extremely painful about the changes of the times, and closely linked the true lies with the tragedies of the times. Every character has different degrees of confusion and confusion in his works. "

Obviously, whether it is a broken series or an infinite pursuit of constants, especially the latter, if mysterious loneliness is skillfully combined with a little fatalism, fatalism itself will have a certain tragic mystery, and loneliness in fate will have a more mysterious meaning, but it is not difficult to find that what he has been pursuing is his ultimate unchangeable view-seeking price constants. Therefore, there is no doubt that his paintings are symbolic and a portrayal of expressing his feelings, but he uses the technique of "containing without revealing, explosive", which makes his mystery and appeal stronger.

In recent years, Li Guangchun has tirelessly launched a series of new works. He is such an artist with ideas and constant pursuit. (seagoing ship)
