East China University of Science and Technology is a national key university with scientific and technological characteristics directly under the people of China and the Ministry of Education. It covers science, engineering, agriculture, medicine, law, management, philosophy, economy, literature, history, education, art and other disciplines 12, and is a national "21/project" and "985 project".

As of 20 14, East China University of Science and Technology has 2 national key laboratories, 3 national engineering technology research centers, 1 national medical biomaterials mobilization center, 1 national technology transfer center, 2 1 provincial and ministerial research bases, 2 innovation and intelligence introduction bases, 2 international cooperative scientific research bases and 55 university-level scientific research. It has been selected into the first batch of national technology transfer demonstration institutions, joined six national technology innovation strategic alliances such as "New Generation Coal (Energy) Chemical Industry", and has a national technology transfer center and an international technology transfer center. It is one of the first six universities in China to establish a national technology transfer center.
