Six common academic dishonesty behaviors in American study abroad exams
American students began to take the final exam of the spring semester in early April. Therefore, I have summarized six kinds of common academic dishonesty behaviors in American study abroad exams, hoping that international students can avoid misunderstanding and take a warning.

1, borrowing test supplies

Speaking of cheating in exams, I believe every foreign student will be familiar with it. Most international students know that peeking at other people's papers, taking cheat sheets, using mobile phones and other unauthorized items are all cheating in exams.

But in some exams, there are other behaviors that also belong to cheating in exams. These behaviors may not be taken seriously by most students, but once they happen, they will also have serious consequences. These behaviors include borrowing test supplies from each other, watching time with mobile phones, not sitting in the prescribed test seats, and so on.

2, find someone to write a paper.

There are two main forms of final examination in American universities, one is in-class examination and the other is thesis writing. For students majoring in liberal arts and business, thesis writing has become a common practice, and most of the final exams focus on completing papers.

And a small number of students with poor writing ability or poor expression ability have begun to find someone else to write their papers. Every year, students who are found to be punished by universities for writing papers for others are no exception.

Lend your paper to others.

Besides not being able to find someone else to write a paper instead of yourself, lending your original paper to others is also an act of academic dishonesty. Besides the final exam paper, your homework, the professor's notes and even some review materials need to be well preserved. You can't lend these materials to others without the permission of the professor, otherwise it will violate the relevant regulations of the school.

4. Submit papers many times.

It is also related to the paper. Some students may think that as long as the paper is original and all the quoted parts are correctly quoted, there will be no problem. But this is not the case. A paper can only be submitted to a professor in one course. If the same article is submitted to professors of multiple courses without any modification, it may also be punished by American universities.

5, modify the test paper

If you ever got a high score again because you secretly revised the test paper, you may never dare to do it again after seeing the following case.

Li Tongxue once revised some small places on his test paper, raising his score from B to A-. However, when he tried to repeat the same trick in another final exam, Li Tongxue's behavior was directly discovered, because the professor scanned all the students' papers to prevent them from revising their answers and resubmitting them. The school didn't give him a chance to appeal at all. Li Tongxue was eventually expelled from an American university for violating the rules of academic integrity.

6. Recite the exam answers

Some international students will search online for exam-related review materials before the exam, and occasionally find their final exam questions and answers in previous years. This is because former classmates uploaded relevant information on the Internet. American university professors usually use the same set of papers for several years, and even the order and number of question options remain unchanged. However, if you write these answers on the test paper intact, it will bring you a lot of trouble.
