Tianjin University, called Tianda for short, was originally named Beiyang University, and was founded on February 2, 1895, 10. It is the first modern university in China and the first university of modern higher education in China. After the reform and opening up, Tianjin University was the first batch of key universities in "2 1 1 Project" and "985 Project", and was selected as a class A university in the national "World-class University Construction".
