Hunan Agricultural University, referred to as "Hunan Agricultural University", is located in Changsha City, Hunan Province. It is a university jointly established by the people of China, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs and the Hunan Provincial People's Government, the construction unit led by the National "20 1 1 Plan" Collaborative Innovation Center, and the first batch of pilot units for the construction of new rural development research institutes in China.

1951March, Hunan Agriculture and Forestry College and Hunan University Agricultural College merged to form Hunan Agricultural College; In June of the same year+10, President Mao Zedong wrote the name of the school in his own handwriting. Postgraduates begin to enroll students 1978. 1987 began to recruit doctoral students. 1994 changed its name to Hunan Agricultural University in March.
