Sucheng No.1 Middle School is a model high school in Anhui Province. The predecessor of the school was 1906 Justice Middle School founded by Mr. Wang, an early league member and a student studying in Japan. It is the first modern middle school in northern Anhui.

1952 was named Anhui Sucheng No.1 Middle School, and 1953 was named the first batch of provincial key middle schools by the provincial government.

At the national conference on cultural and educational work held in 1960, it was rated as "the advanced unit of the national education front" and was reported as "a banner of Anhui middle schools" by People's Daily. 1999 was approved by the provincial government as the first batch of provincial demonstration ordinary high schools in Anhui province.

In 20 17, it was identified as a model school of smart schools in primary and secondary schools in Anhui Province by the Provincial Department of Education.

It has been successively rated as National Modern Educational Technology Experimental School, National Advanced Unit of Educational Scientific Research, National Advanced Unit of Physical Education and Health, National Characteristic School, National Defense Education Characteristic School, Anhui Civilized Unit, Anhui Minor Ideological and Moral Construction Demonstration School, Anhui Garden-style Unit, Anhui Parent School Demonstration School and Anhui Education System Advanced Unit.

The Politburo Standing Committee (PSC) of the Communist Party of China, Wang Yang, Chairman of the CPPCC National Committee, Wang Shengjun, Vice Chairman of the 12th the National People's Congress Standing Committee (NPCSC), Yang Zaibao, a famous film artist, and Yin Dongmei, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Fudan University, are all the pride of Sucheng No.1 Middle School.
