Can the blood test of school physical examination detect thalassemia?
Physical examination and blood routine can't diagnose thalassemia, but if the red blood cell index is small cell (low average volume of red blood cells), low pigment (low average hemoglobin of red blood cells) and anemia (low hemoglobin, but normal can't rule out thalassemia), further examination is needed to determine whether it is iron deficiency or thalassemia. Without these manifestations, poverty may not be great, but it cannot be ruled out. If you want to check thalassemia, you need hemoglobin electrophoresis+thalassemia gene detection.
