Since its establishment in 2004, the College has made great progress in teaching, scientific research and student management under the guidance of Scientific Outlook on Development and the motto of "respecting the law and being pragmatic". The college has three departments of law, administration and social work, and three undergraduate education majors of law, administration and social work, among which the law major was identified as a provincial-level specialty by Shandong Province in 2007.

Law schools include Weihai Institute of Folk Law, Weihai Institute of Legal Methodology, Weihai Institute of Legislation, ahava Institute of Legal System, Weihai Institute of Oriental Culture, Weihai Institute of International and Comparative Law and Weihai School of Politics. Among them, the research center of legal methodology has been identified as the key research base of humanities and social sciences in Shandong Province during the Eleventh Five-Year Plan and the Twelfth Five-Year Plan. The discipline of legal theory in our college is a provincial key discipline, and the teaching team of legal theory was rated as an excellent teaching team by Shandong University Weihai Branch.

The college also has practice teaching institutions such as mock trial, mock arbitration laboratory, social work laboratory, social investigation and research center, clinic education center and student legal service center.

The college can recruit doctoral students in legal theory and political science; It can recruit and train graduate students in nine professional directions, including legal theory, constitution and administrative law, international law, civil and commercial law, economic law, procedural law, political science, administrative management and legal history. Law majors also recruit and train master of laws (including full-time master of laws who take the national joint examination and on-the-job master of laws who take separate examinations). There are more than 70 undergraduates1/kloc-0, 202 full-time graduate students, and more than 90 doctors 10.
