In the eyes of ordinary people, industrial wastewater, sludge, waste residue and abandoned circuit boards that pollute the environment have become "treasures" in Ogilvy & Mather. After comprehensive treatment, they can extract rare and precious metals such as gold, silver, copper, platinum, nickel and tin. What is even more amazing is that the composite board made of fiber, corn stalk, sawdust and branches has actually become a' BMW' car material board; Activated carbon can be made from sludge deposited after urban sewage treatment, which is an incredible scene that the reporter of Shang Chao in the World saw in Ogilvy & Mather Group.
"There is no garbage in the world, only misplaced resources." Lin Chuntao, the chairman of Ogilvy & Mather Group, showed reporters around and patiently explained how to recycle and reprocess waste, thus turning waste into treasure. Those technical terms naturally flowed out of his mouth. Compared with ten years ago, he is much more confident and knows more. Now, he is an environmental expert.
Two entrepreneurial failures
From 65438 to 0989, Lin Chuntao was transferred from the army and assigned to work in the relevant departments of Huizhou Municipal Government. Because he felt that the environment was not suitable for him, he decided to go to sea the next year. Shortly after going to sea, he contracted a hotel in Huizhou Highway Bureau. Due to lack of experience, the hotel soon closed down. However, at the age of 22, he did not give up. He went to Guilin, contracted a large-scale hotel and tried to start a business in a foreign land. It was ok at first, but due to the pressure of objective factors such as local conservatism, it finally failed. Contracting restaurants twice brought him great setbacks and lessons. Never giving up, Lin Chuntao gritted his teeth, embarked on the road of studying, packed his bags, went to Hainan University to study undergraduate business administration, and enriched himself with knowledge.
One day a few years later, Lin Chuntao returned to the army to visit the chief. After learning of his experience of frustration in starting a business, the head waved at the training ground runway without saying anything and ordered him to "run forward". Lin Chuntao ran fiercely, fell down, got up and ran; Fall down again, get up and run again. At this time, the head of the delegation walked up to Lin Chuntao and panted to him, such is life. You fell, get up and run, aim at the target and never back down. The meaningful words of the colonel and the spirit of the soldiers gave Lin Chuntao the courage and strength to continue fighting.
He decided to start his own business again.
Self-taught as a "recycling expert"
1998 Lin Chuntao began to contact the garbage recycling industry. At first, he only sold simple waste recycling. From then on, he began to pay attention to the information about waste recycling, especially the news reports of foreign garbage, and unconsciously became a "garbage expert".
"I gradually discovered that it is not garbage, but baby." Lin Chuntao's eyes are shining. "In 2002, I started to set up a professional team to recycle garbage. I feel that in the past, Japan and the United States plundered resources by fighting. Today, we get these resources by serving the world. "
In order to turn these ideas into reality, he constantly discussed with domestic people how to deal with foreign garbage. In his eyes, foreign garbage is a kind of resources delivered to the door, and the state can introduce relevant policies to support enterprises to turn these resources into treasure. For example, scrap iron, for example, can be turned into usable mineral resources after refining, which is much better than mining. And with the development of industry, the country's mineral resources are becoming scarcer and scarcer. Only by recycling resources can sustainable economy become a reality.
"As long as the state and the government pay enough attention to it, this industry can be equated with the primary, secondary and tertiary industries when it develops to a certain extent."
Lin Chuntao calculated an account for the reporter of Shang Chao in the World: the industrial wastewater recovered by the company in the past was discharged after being refined and treated up to standard, and it took 50 yuan to 60 yuan to treat 1 ton of wastewater. Later, technicians found that there were many elements in the wastewater as raw materials for producing high-efficiency water purifiers, so they developed this new technology of treating waste with waste, and reprocessed the wastewater into a' new high-efficiency water purifier'. 1 ton can be sold to 800 yuan for 700 yuan, which has better treatment effect on industrial sewage and lower cost than traditional water purifiers.
Establish the largest renewable resource base.
After several years of accumulation, since 2003, Lin Chuntao has boldly entered the field of renewable resources recycling investment. He not only recruited dozens of innovative young researchers, but also hired a number of retired experts from large state-owned enterprises to let them play their residual heat.
In July 2005, Lin Chuntao put forward the development idea of building Huizhou renewable resources recycling industrial base and drafted the implementation plan. The investment of this project is 654.38+500 million yuan, and the planned total land area is 5000 mu. This scheme has been actively supported by Huizhou Municipal Government and has been specially recommended as the key investment attraction project in Huizhou in 2007. Finally, Ogilvy successfully attracted Delixi Group to build a base.
"After the completion of this base, the recycling of renewable resources in Huizhou can form an industrial scale. In addition, we will make it a highlight of industrial tourism. " Lin Chuntao is full of confidence in the future development of the company.
As a supporting project of the base construction, with the promotion of Lin Chuntao, relevant departments in Huizhou will set up about 1 0,000 unified and standardized modern recycling stations in all communities in the city.
"At that time, the ——dressing the recycling site of renewable resources will be uniformly identified and managed, and renewable resources will be recycled at market prices. If citizens have bottles, old kettles, etc. To handle it, call the recycling point, and someone will buy it. Just like running a McDonald's restaurant, other waste collection stations can also join. " He excitedly explained the business model of renewable resources recycling network.
[Focus Dialogue]
"I am like a big hospital here, specializing in incurable diseases!"
Only put it in the wrong place, no garbage.
World Tide Merchants: The sustainable development of economy is actively advocated by the state, but some experts and scholars still hold different views. For example, some people think that garbage is waste, and some people think that garbage concentrated together will cause more pollution.
Lin Chuntao: Actually not. Paying attention to it means paying attention to environmental protection In our industry, many doctors are interested in participating in research, so focusing on it is conducive to focusing on the research and development of professionals. I have an analogy. The environmental protection industrial park where I am located is like a big hospital, which specializes in treating various infectious diseases and incurable diseases. Because of its professionalism, we have a large number of experts and professors to ensure effective treatment. In my industrial park, all kinds of garbage and waste products can be treated on the spot. Our values are: there is no garbage in the world, only resources are misplaced, and everything is precious in our eyes.
Environmental protection concerns life and health.
Shang Chao: There are many kinds of rubbish. What's your point? What is the current competitive situation and development trend of this industry?
Lin Chuntao: We mainly focus on high technology. For example, the processing technology of waste electronic appliances is developed by ourselves. Electronic and electrical equipment is constantly updated. In the past, these old equipment processing machines needed to be imported from some developed countries, but now they are not needed. We have developed a set of technologies suitable for China, including fluorine ammonia recovery and phosphor recovery, which are only owned by us in China. In the competition, the key technologies are tackled first, and the key point is the technology of recycling toxic and harmful wastes, which is not something that ordinary waste purchasing stations can do, such as using fibers, sawdust and waste plastics discarded by everyone as composite boards. In addition, the electrons produced by sludge, electroplating and circuit board electronics industries are polluted by heavy metals such as copper, nickel and cadmium. When they flow into the land, they will absorb plants and cause poisoning. Electroplating contains cyanide. If left untreated, 0.0 1 mg can poison 16 people, which shows that it is highly toxic. Then, for the gold-plated ones, we extract trace amounts of gold and cyanide from them, so as not to pollute the environment.
The more developed the city, the more the industrial chain will break if the environmental protection industry can't keep up. As far as Guangdong is concerned, if there is no industry like ours, firstly, the export of electronic and electrical products will become a problem; Second, there will be problems with environmental protection. In national laws, it is stipulated that the people's governments at or above the county level should invest in planning and building such a base. At present, it is impossible for the government to invest and operate, so we can take government support and let our enterprises invest and operate. We are not only serving the government, but also serving enterprises, helping enterprises to deal with toxic and harmful waste gas and sewage. Recently, we also took the lead in setting up a provincial engineering R&D center in China.
Our company's name is Ogilvy & Mather, and "Ogilvy" refers to a wide range, "Beauty" refers to environmental protection, and "Speciality" refers to high technology. Developing circular economy must rely on high technology. Without high technology, it is just a slogan.
Attract professionals
World Tide Merchants: You are now engaged in a highly professional industry. Where did your talent come from?
Lin Chuntao: At present, there are ways to cooperate with institutions or universities, such as equity participation and technology transfer. For example, if you have a technology, we will invest in it, operate it and promote it. We account for 70% of the profits and they account for 30%.
Our company has more than 20 doctors and 40 masters. In addition, dozens of retired experts from anniversary Oilfield, Shanghai Institute of Chemical Technology and Maoming Guang Petrochemical Company were invited. In the past, they only paid attention to production regardless of environmental protection, so today they think that they should make up for what they did badly in the past, give full play to the waste heat and come up with technical ideas for the environmental protection industry. They think that this industry benefits the country and the people, and does good deeds, so first of all, they agree with this industry, agree with the platform we provide, and are willing to cooperate with us.
Run the enterprise environment first
World Tide Merchants: There are many enterprises in China that recycle waste products. What's so special about you compared with them?
Lin Chuntao: We are a private enterprise with no background and no special policy support. We start from scratch, have our own ideas and build them step by step. In the whole country, we are not the biggest in terms of scale and economic strength, but we are an environmental protection industrialization, and we can do all related businesses. If the system is comprehensive, we should be the first. Some enterprises specialize in waste market, some specialize in imported waste, and some specialize in hazardous waste.
World Tide Merchants: What is the future development goal of your enterprise?
Lin Chuntao: Be a man first, then start a business. Where to invest, do a good job in the environment first. I don't ask the government for a policy first, but I do it first, and then I get the government's approval to guide the government in formulating policies.
We already have an industrial park and the land is basically settled. We have a comprehensive utilization and processing base of 3000 mu. I have moved into more than a dozen factories, and some of them have attracted investment. Next, we will make the industrial park stronger and bigger. Five years later, we will strive to achieve an annual output value of over 50 billion. At present, we have more than 5,000 employees, and we plan to grow to more than 30,000 in five years.
World Tide Merchants: Resource reuse seems to have a sense of social responsibility. what do you think?
Lin Chuntao: When I set up the company, I first cleaned the roads around the company, dealt with environmental pollution and made greening. So I repay the society before the company makes money, not after it makes money. The same is true in my hometown of Gai Lou, where the surrounding environment is very good. Last year, I donated nearly 6,543,800,000 yuan, including 2,000,000 yuan to the Charity Federation, as well as building roads, schools and participating in the new socialist countryside. This earthquake, including employees, our company donated more than 300,000 yuan.
