In my opinion, it is more important to find your favorite work direction or define your career development goals during college than to pursue further education.
I majored in finance in college and worked in finance after graduation. I didn't know much about my major in college, and the work I did after graduation was not what I liked and was good at. As a freshman at that time, I belonged to the short-sighted crowd who drifted with the tide.
I have struggled in my job for 10 years. So far, my income has not reached the average wage standard in Beijing. My job is still the content when I first entered the workplace, and there is no room for promotion in my position. My career development experience can be described as failure. What I regret most is what I mentioned at the beginning. I didn't really explore my hobbies or advantages during my college years, even though I could clearly position myself.
But these failed experiences have given me some insights into employment and career choice:
1. Take part in social practice activities during college and take every opportunity to experience yourself seriously. Different social practice opportunities allow us to explore our favorite occupations or positions; Can accumulate our contacts; Can enrich the content of our resume;
2. If your major requires professional titles or academic qualifications, try to get all the certificates or academic qualifications you can get during the winter and summer vacations, so that you will win at the starting line when you are employed in the future, which is much more than going to graduate school;
3. Maintain the friendship of college students, who may help them tide over the difficulties in the future.
Graduate school is also to get better treatment after graduation, have more room for promotion, realize their own revenge and reflect their own values. Instead of continuing to generate costs and expecting uncertain returns in the future, it is better to let most fresh graduates turn knowledge into tools as soon as possible and let themselves start to generate income, which is more reliable.
