Zhongnan University of Economics and Law was founded in 1948. Chung Yuan Christian University, with Deng Xiaoping as the first secretary and Chen Yi as the director of the Preparatory Committee, is an ordinary institution of higher learning with eight disciplines, namely, literature, history, philosophy, science and engineering, and is directly under the Ministry of Education of China.
Zhongnan University of Economics and Law is an ordinary institution of higher learning focusing on economics, law and management. It has nine disciplines, including philosophy, literature, history, science, engineering and art, and is one of the national key universities. The school has two campuses, Nanhu Campus is located on the beautiful Nanhu Lake, and Shouyi Campus is located under the historic Yellow Crane Tower.
