Liu Shijun, born in Qingdao in 1943, graduated from Qingdao Academy of Fine Arts (now Qingdao University of Science and Technology) with a major in Chinese painting in 1964, and studied under famous painters such as Shi Ke, Tao Tianen and Sui.
