East China Jiaotong University is a teaching and research-oriented university focusing on work and featuring transportation. 197 1 year, the national education work conference proposed that three majors, such as diesel locomotive of Shanghai Jiaotong University and railway engineering of Tongji University, should be transferred to Shanghai Railway Institute and renamed East China Jiaotong University. On September 22nd of the same year, the State Council and the Central Military Commission decided to move the school to Jiangxi. The school is located in Shuang Gang. 1978, the central government agreed that the former Shanghai Railway Institute would not be relocated, and East China Jiaotong University would continue to establish its school in Nanchang, with the former Ministry of Railways and Jiangxi Province as the main body. In 2000, the school was transformed into a "central and local * * * construction, focusing on local management" and was a key institution of higher learning in Jiangxi Province. It is a doctoral degree awarding unit.
