The high school attached to Yunnan Normal University, referred to as "the high school attached to Yunnan Normal University" for short, is a first-class ordinary high school in Yunnan Province, a public high school directly under the Yunnan Provincial Department of Education, a demonstration school of science and technology education in Yunnan Province, a national key scientific research base school of basic education, and a national modern educational technology experimental school.

The school was formerly the affiliated school of National Southwest Associated University Teachers College founded in 1940. 1984, Kunming Normal University was renamed as "Yunnan Normal University", and the attached middle school was renamed as "Middle School Attached to Yunnan Normal University".
