In the fourth round of national discipline evaluation results, the three first-level disciplines of traditional Chinese medicine, integrated traditional Chinese and western medicine and traditional Chinese medicine ranked first in the country, and all achieved excellent results of A+. It is the only university in China that has won three A+ s.

Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine is a university founded by the Ministry of Education and the Shanghai Municipal People's Government. It is a key high-level university in Shanghai and a national "double-class" university.

It is a founding member of the world-class Chinese medicine university construction alliance and the Yangtze River Delta medical education alliance, a pilot unit for the construction of high-level local universities in Shanghai, the first batch of traditional medicine cooperation centers of the World Health Organization, and the seat of the secretariat of the Chinese medicine standards and technology Committee of the International Organization for Standardization;

It has been selected into the national "11/plan", the education and training plan for excellent doctors (Chinese medicine), the national postgraduate plan for building high-level universities, the national "key discipline project with characteristics", the national innovation and entrepreneurship training plan for college students, and the new engineering research and practice project.

As well as the innovation experimental zone of talent training mode of the Ministry of Education, the national basic scientific research and teaching talent training base, the national college students' cultural quality education base, the scholarship receiving institution of China government for overseas students, and the first batch of demonstration universities in Shanghai to deepen the reform of innovation and entrepreneurship education.

The school cooperates with Shanghai College of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
