The school was established in June, 1950, 10. Its predecessor was the training course for postal personnel of Dongchuan Postal Administration. On this basis, Southwest Post and Telecommunications Sub-office, chongqing post and telecommunications School and Chongqing Telecom School were successively held. From 65438 to 0959, the State Council approved the establishment of Chongqing University of Posts and Telecommunications and began undergraduate education; 1970 was transformed into No.529 Factory of General Telecommunications Bureau, 1973 was transformed into No.9 Research Institute of Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications, and 1979 resumed operation. In 2000, it was placed under the management of Chongqing from the Ministry of Information Industry and jointly built by the Ministry and the city.
