Which is higher, CET4 or CET6?
Level 6

CET-4 and CET-6 are national English tests administered by the Ministry of Education. Its purpose is to objectively and accurately measure the actual English ability of college students and provide evaluation services for college English teaching. You don't need to take the exam in the order of grade one to grade four. Candidates can take CET-6 after taking and passing CET-4.

Band 4 is higher than Band 6. CET-6 is more difficult than CET-4, and there is basically no difference between CET-4 and CET-6, but it should be noted that listening comprehension and short messages of CET-4 are replaced by lectures in CET-6, and the language speed of CET-6 listening materials is higher than that of CET-4. CET-4 and CET-6 are not only different in questions and scores, but also different in vocabulary.

The role of CET-6

1, CET-6 has aroused the attention of Chinese universities and relevant education departments to college English teaching and mobilized the enthusiasm of teachers and students. A large number of statistical data and experimental materials of validity research prove that CET-6 not only has high reliability, but also has high validity, which meets the quality requirements of large-scale standardized examinations and can reflect the English level of college students in China according to the requirements of syllabus, thus effectively promoting the implementation of college English syllabus and promoting the improvement of college English teaching level in China.

2. College English Test provides an objective description of the English level of college students in China every year. Because modern educational statistical methods are widely used in CET-6 and scores are treated equally, the significance of scores in previous exams remains unchanged. Therefore, some unique teaching methods began to appear, such as New Oriental Band 6 training, item-by-item teaching, and explaining examination skills and methods, which were well received.

3. Because the CET-6 adopts the normal grading system, the results published after each exam contain a lot of information, which becomes the dynamic basis for the decision-making of educational administrative departments at all levels, and also provides feedback information for schools to take measures to improve teaching quality according to their own school's actual situation.
