The College of Literature of Yangzhou University, formerly known as the Chinese Department of Yangzhou Normal University, was founded by Mr. Ren (Bantang), the first batch of doctoral students in China ancient literature approved by the State Council Academic Degrees Committee. The college has two undergraduate majors: Chinese language and literature (normal class, secretarial direction) and Chinese as a foreign language. Chinese language and literature major is a provincial brand major.
