Putian College is located in Putian City, Fujian Province. It is a full-time undergraduate university approved by the Ministry of Education in March 2002. Led and managed by the Fujian provincial government, the school-running system is based on provinces and cities. The school was rated as a national model greening unit, an advanced mental health education unit of Chinese Psychological Association, a civilized school in Fujian Province, a safe campus and a garden-style unit in Fujian Province.
There are 16 secondary colleges, including School of Culture and Communication, School of Foreign Languages, School of Mathematics and Finance, School of Environmental and Biological Engineering, School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, School of Information Engineering, School of Civil Engineering, School of Arts and Crafts, School of Music, School of Physical Education, School of Management, School of Business, School of Nursing, School of Pharmacy and Medical Technology, School of Clinical Medicine and School of Basic Education, with 48 undergraduate majors.
It has formed eight professional groups focusing on "engineering, medicine and management", such as electromechanical, information, civil engineering, medicine, cultural industry, industry and commerce and public services, environment and biochemistry, and arts and crafts, covering eight disciplines including science, engineering, literature, management, medicine, teaching, art and economics.
