After many efforts, in June 1906, several houses in the West Pailou were rented as school buildings to open the Yali University Hall. The word "elegant ceremony" is not only the transliteration of elegant music, but also the meaning of elegance in the Analects of Confucius and ceremony in poetry and calligraphy. Leavens, 1909) in charge of general affairs. At this time, the school has built a magnificent campus, including a science museum, an auditorium, a dormitory, a classroom, a dining room, a playground and a professor's residence.

1924, graduated from Class 13 of Yali University. Liu Zhixun, a revolutionary martyr, is a graduate of this class. Liu Zhixun was admitted to Yali University Preparatory Class 19 16. In the meantime, I met Yang Kaihui, Mao Zedong, Cai Hesen, Zhang Kundi and others, and founded a weekly school newspaper in Yali University, established a patriotic organization, the Bamboo Club, and held public schools. He also organized Yali students to participate in the Zhang's drive-away movement and the May 4th patriotic movement, and was elected as the appraisal minister of Hunan Federation of Students and the director-general of the Ten-member National Salvation Federation in the May 4th movement. 1923, Liu Zhixun joined the China * * * production party and established one of the earliest * * * party member in Yali. After graduating from Yali University, Liu Zhixun took an active part in the revolutionary work and died in Honghu Revolutionary Base in 1932 at the age of 34. Comrade Mao Zedong once wrote a poem "Answer to Li Shuyi" as a souvenir.
