The emblem of Southwest Jiaotong University is quite different from that of several other Jiaotong universities. The emblem of National Jiaotong University in the Republic of China was not adopted (all other school emblems of Jiaotong University were modified from the old ones). In fact, the school emblem of Southwest Jiaotong University originated from Tang Jiaotong University, and borrowed the school emblem of 1935 alumni hall of Tang Jiaotong University, which probably means "gathering all the alumni in one place".
