The university debate team is generally affiliated to the debate organization of university colleges, which undertakes the task of recruiting and training debate talents and holding college debate competitions, and participates in various debate competitions on behalf of the college. Debate teams can help students master debate skills skillfully, cultivate students' logical thinking ability, expand their knowledge and enhance their sense of collective honor through rich topics. Adhering to the belief that "knowing how to argue can skillfully cure fallacies, arguing according to reason and skillfully using tactics", the debating team has played a positive role in enriching college students' extracurricular activities and improving their quality.

The university debate team can also participate in various debate-related competitions inside and outside the school, such as the university debate competition: a college student competition jointly organized by several universities. Usually around a certain theme, cross-examination is conducted with both positive and negative arguments, so as to exercise college students' eloquence, thinking ability and teamwork spirit.
