The library of Shandong University of Technology started the library automation construction in the early 1990s. Now Huiwen book management system has been adopted to realize the computer automation management of document acquisition, cataloging, circulation, collection and document retrieval. EI, ElsevierScience, SpringerLink, EBSCO database (ase, BSP), China periodical full-text database, China excellent doctoral thesis full-text database, Wanfang data resource system, Superstar digital library and other domestic and foreign network databases were introduced, and a cross-database retrieval system was independently developed, and an information integration platform was built, providing readers with convenient, fast and effective retrieval ways and means.

The library of Shandong University of Technology adheres to the tenet of "readers first, service first", takes "people first" as the core concept, focuses on information science and modernization, networking and digitalization, and takes the reform of management system as the driving force to further optimize the collection structure and comprehensively improve the management and service level, and is moving towards a high-level university library.
