Geological resources and geological engineering

The national key discipline is established by five colleges of Geology Department of College of Earth Exploration Science and Technology of Jilin University, with College of Earth Exploration Science and Technology as the lead unit. The discipline of geological resources and geological engineering is a newly established first-class discipline after the discipline adjustment of the Ministry of Education in 1998, which belongs to mineral survey and exploration, earth exploration and information technology, and geological engineering. The discipline of geological resources and geological engineering of Jilin University (1998) is a first-class discipline authorized by doctoral degree, and a postdoctoral mobile station has been established. In addition to covering the above three two disciplines, the school also independently opened four two disciplines majors, such as geo-information engineering. Jilin University independently established the second-class doctoral degree authorization point under the first-class discipline of geological resources and geological engineering (2000). This discipline focuses on the comprehensive research and application of remote sensing information, geographic information, geophysical and geochemical information, and the development and integration of 3S technology, which strongly supports the construction of the discipline of earth exploration and information technology.

Space physics

Master's degree authorization point. In 2003, in cooperation with Jilin Institute of Meteorology, an authorization point for master's degree in space physics was added. This discipline mainly uses geophysics and spatial information technology to study meteorological changes and disasters, environmental changes and disasters, and monitor their development and harm, and further study the causes of disasters and environmental changes on the earth's surface and inside, so as to establish a disaster early warning system and form an early prediction ability for disasters and major environmental changes.

Cartography and Geographic Information System

The main research fields of this subject are: 1, remote sensing mapping and its technical application, including: (1) research on remote sensing information mechanism and data processing theory and method; (2) Surveying, mapping and application research of remote sensing information science in resources investigation, monitoring and analysis, geoscience research, agriculture and forestry, urban construction, environmental protection, land management and other fields; 2. Geographic information system. Using mathematical methods and computer technology, taking remote sensing and other spatial information as information sources, the comprehensive information is applied to the management, correlation, transformation (exchange law) of geological, geographical, geophysical and geochemical information, as well as the three-dimensional visualization research of related information. Study the characteristics of geoscience comprehensive information, and put geoscience problems into quantitative category for analysis and processing. 3. Earth system process and surface parameter inversion. Based on the earth science theory, mathematical methods and geographic information system technology, the physical change process of the earth system change is simulated by using the earth observation information such as remote sensing and geophysics, and the mathematical and physical model of the material and energy cycle of the earth system is established. Based on remote sensing physics, the surface parameters and atmospheric chemical composition are retrieved by using visible light and thermal infrared data obtained from satellite remote sensing, and their effects are analyzed and evaluated.

Geodetic and surveying engineering

Master's degree authorization point was established in 2005. The main research direction of this subject is: 1, integration and application of 3S system technology, including: spatial information acquisition, access management, update, data transmission and sharing, analysis and application; 2. Modern engineering survey method and technology and deformation monitoring. Real-time, accurate and continuous monitoring and forecasting of movement and deformation of important projects, monitoring and forecasting of land subsidence, and evaluating the quality and safety of construction projects; 3. The close combination of geophysical geodesy and spatial geodesy constitutes the pillar of the development of geodesy, which has been used to monitor many geophysical phenomena at various scales. This direction makes the geophysical and surveying engineering courses in our college form a strong alliance, mutual blending and mutual penetration.

Cartography and Geographic Information Engineering

The master's degree authorization point is set up in 1990. The master's degree was formerly a master's degree in remote sensing geology. 1998, the state adjusted the disciplines and specialties, canceled the discipline of remote sensing geology, adjusted the part of remote sensing geology to the discipline of earth exploration and information technology, and adjusted the other part to the newly established disciplines of surveying and mapping science and technology, cartography and geographic information engineering. The master's degree in cartography and geographic information engineering was re-recognized by the state. At present, the Department of Surveying and Mapping Engineering and the Department of Remote Sensing and Geographic Information System are jointly responsible for the construction of this master's degree.

Nuclear technology and its application

Master's degree authorization point was established in 2005. Radioactive mineral resources and other non-radioactive mineral resources are mainly studied by (1) nuclear geophysical methods, including borehole nuclear investigation and exploration, nuclear environment monitoring and evaluation, and nuclear technology utilization and development. (2) Using the theory and method of isotope geochemistry, the distribution, migration, transformation and enrichment of elements in rock-soil-water-atmosphere-organism are studied through isotope geochemistry, which provides an important theoretical basis for the migration and transformation of nuclides in heterogeneous media, resource exploration, mine environmental assessment, urban and agricultural environmental pollution control, nuclear radiation and environmental protection research. (3) Using the theory and method of geothermal and geochemical dynamics, the mechanism of nuclide migration and transformation is simulated, and the mathematical model of nuclide migration evaluation is established, which provides important technical support for radioactive waste treatment and radioactive environmental impact assessment.
