As early as 1929, Mr. Cai Yuanpei, an educator, advocated that the National Shandong University be moved to Qingdao for preparation. He repeatedly said: "Qingdao's topography and climate will be the cultural center in the future, which has a lot to do with this university." The Ministry of Education of the National Government accepted Mr. Cai Yuanpei's suggestion and immediately ordered the National Shandong University Preparatory Committee to be changed to the National Qingdao University Preparatory Committee. On April 28th, 1930, Yang Zhensheng was appointed as the president, and President Yang Zhensheng took office in May. 1June, 930, according to the resolution of the Preparatory Committee, the National Qingdao University established two departments of arts and sciences in the first year, among which the School of Science consisted of four departments: Mathematics Department, Physics Department, Chemistry Department and Biology Department. At this point, the physics department was officially born. There was a teacher in the Physics Department at that time, Mr. wang pu. 1In August, 930, the newly established National Qingdao University enrolled new students in Jinan and Qingdao, including more than 10 freshmen in the Department of Physics, and hired Professor Jiang Deshou as its director. 2 1 September, opening ceremony.
193 1 year, teacher Guo Yicheng was hired, the number of students increased to more than 30, some books and instruments were purchased, and experiments on thermodynamics, physical properties and electromagnetism were opened, which began to take shape. 1932 In September, the Executive Yuan decided to rename the National Qingdao University as the National Shandong University, merge the two universities of arts and sciences into the Faculty of Arts, and merge the Department of Physics and the Department of Mathematics into the Department of Multidisciplinary Studies. Jiang Deshou resigned as a director and hired Mr. Shou as a director to work in the school.
1March, 933, the newly-built Science Museum was completed, and the Department of Physics settled on the first floor, still forming its own department. It shares the Science Museum with the Department of Mathematics and the Department of Biology. Mr. You Shou continued to serve as a director, and hired Ren Zhigong, Wang, Cai Fangxian, He Zenglu, Jiang Bingran, Fang Guangqi, Pan Zuwu, Wu Jinghuan, Zheng Yanfen, German Mr. Fell and other departments. Several batches of books and instruments were purchased, which gradually enriched the laboratories of all grades. By 1934, the department of physics has established six laboratories: (1) general physics laboratory, with sound, light, heat and electricity experimental equipment; (2) Physical property laboratory, equipped with thermal and physical property experimental equipment; (3) Electrical laboratory, equipped with primary and advanced electromagnetic experimental equipment; (4) Radio laboratory, with 200W radio broadcasting station and basic radio experimental equipment; (5) Optical laboratory, with advanced optical experimental equipment and 3 sets of optical instruments. (6) Modern physics laboratory, equipped with high vacuum pump, mercury vapor pump and quadrant galvanometer, as well as cathode ray experiment, radiation experiment and other equipment.
1935 The Department of Physics was funded by China Education and Culture Foundation, and some meteorological and radio instruments were purchased, and a factory for repairing and making instruments was built. In terms of courses, students above Grade Two are divided into three groups: pure physics group, astronomy and meteorology group and radio science group. Students choose a group of courses according to their hobbies and interests, and cultivate talents for specialized subject research. There are four classes with about 30 graduates. 1935 In the National College Physics Essay and Examination Competition held in March, the works of Xu Zhenru, a teaching assistant in the Department of Physics, won the first prize, and the works of Wang Zongheng won the third prize. Student Tian Jintang won the first prize in the exam. Does Kim have it? Zhang Kun won the second prize in the exam, which won honor for the school.
1936 10 Shou resigned as a director and Professor Fang Guangqi became a director.
1937 During the July 7th Incident, War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression broke out, and the school moved from Qingdao to Anqing, and soon moved to Wanxian County, Sichuan Province, resulting in heavy losses of books and instruments. 1June, 938, the Ministry of Education ordered the dismissal of acting principal Lin, and the school was ordered to close. The last four students transferred to Central University, and books and instruments were lent to Central University. At this point, the National Shandong University came to an end and the Department of Physics was interrupted. The last dean was Professor Pan Zuwu. 1946 In March, with the approval of the Ministry of Education of the National Government, the National Shandong University resumed its school in Qingdao, and Zhao Taimou became the president again, as did the Department of Physics. The Department of Physics is one of the 15 departments established after the resumption of the National Science and Technology University. Mr. wang pu was appointed as the director in August, and the entrance examination for freshmen in September and June,1opening ceremony on October 25th, 65438. Students are required to study for four years (including five years in engineering and six years in medical school), and separate study system, compulsory system and elective system are implemented. Professors include wang pu, Wang Hengshou, Guo Yicheng and Xue Zhaowang. Central University returned some books and instruments, but most of them were incomplete and unusable. Subsequently, I bought two sets of general physics experimental instruments from the Institute of Physics of Academia Sinica, with 40 experiments in each set, which were specially used for students' experiments. Later, three batches of electrical and optical instruments were ordered from the United States, and there were four general physics laboratories. Books and materials have also begun to take shape, and several batches of books have been ordered from the United States and Shanghai, as well as the Physical Review magazine donated by the United States and seven or eight foreign magazines ordered.
1947 Spring, Ding Xilin, Yang Zhaolian and Wang Shuzhuang came to work in our school. Mr. Ding and Mr. Wang set up an instrument repair shop, and made their own instruments and equipment for experiments and research in our department. There are 100 kinds of characterization experiments. Chen Tongxin and many other alumni have come to teach in this department. 1947165438+1October 29th, the National Institute of Physics of Shandong University was established, with Zhuang Dequan as the president and all the teachers and students in the Department of Physics as members. 1947 12 Mr wang pu became a researcher and dean of the American bureau of standards. College Physics written by Sills, translated by physics teachers from 65438 to 0948, published by Zhonghua Book Company, is regarded as an excellent version by universities and widely adopted.
On June 2nd, after the liberation of Qingdao, 1949, the Military Management Team entered the school and took over the school.
