College is the only higher vocational and technical college in Shaoguan, with department of mechanical engineering, Electrical Engineering Department, Foreign Languages Department, Computer Department, Economic Management Department, Basic Education Department, Ideological and Political Education Department, Practice Factory and other teaching departments. It has successively set up 365 and 438+0 higher vocational majors, with relatively reasonable layout and outstanding features. Professional groups that closely combine the local economic development and the post requirements of professional talents (including the two-year "Numerical Control Technology and Application" approved by the Ministry of Education as the pilot specialty for the training of skilled talents in national higher vocational education, and "Electrical Automation Technology" as the demonstration and construction specialty of Guangdong higher vocational education).

The college has a team of teachers with noble morality, reasonable structure, high teaching level, strong practical ability, high professionalism, courage to innovate and a combination of full-time and part-time jobs. At present, there are 107 full-time teachers with a postgraduate degree or a master's degree and 1 person in Guangdong's "Thousand Hundred Thousand" project training. A group of outstanding technical talents from enterprises represented by national technical expert and skillful craftsman Luo Dongyuan were hired as visiting professors, and a group of backbone teachers, professional leaders and a double-qualified team were trained. The Department of Electrical Engineering was renamed from the former Department of Electrical Engineering of Guangdong Songshan Vocational and Technical College in February, 2000, based on the principle of cultivating "applied senior technical talents facing the front line of engineering". Its predecessor was the electrical teaching and research group of the former professional department of Shaogang Staff University. The whole department has six teaching and research sections: industrial automation and instrumentation teaching and research section, applied electronic technology teaching and research section, training teaching and research section, basic teaching and research section, building electrical and intelligent teaching and research section, and electronic information engineering teaching and research section. Automation control engineering and related majors in our department were first established in 1976. Up to now, 869 adult junior college students have been trained, and there are about 12 17 full-time junior college students.

Our department has three professional basic laboratories of circuit, analog electronic technology and digital electronic technology, including nine professional laboratories of industrial microcomputer, programmable controller, automatic control theory, DC speed regulation, AC variable frequency speed regulation, motor and electric drive, multifunctional household appliances, communication principle, microcomputer (single chip microcomputer) principle and application, and industrial automation instrument. There are 4 intermediate electrician training rooms and 6 intermediate and senior maintenance electrician training rooms; A multifunctional computer room. More than 820 sets of equipment, valued at 1 1.9 million yuan. The experimental training base, with a total construction area of about 4,000 square meters, can provide all kinds of experiments needed for the teaching of related disciplines and specialized courses in the hospital. The only advanced maintenance electrician skill appraisal point in northern Guangdong is located in our department. In addition, our department is currently building six laboratories, including high frequency technology, frequency conversion technology, EDA technology, sensor technology, DSP technology and communication technology. Once completed, the experimental and practical training level of our department will reach a new level. The college is backed by Shaogang, and our department has diversified practice bases relying on the strong technical advantages of Shaogang Group and relevant technical resources in the region (for example, our department has a training agreement with Qujiang Telecommunications Bureau for telecom students).

The department has four majors: computer graphics and image making, computer application and maintenance, network technology and computer software, with 840 students. The computer science department has a team of teachers with rich knowledge, experience and high quality, including 4 senior technical titles, 9 intermediate technical titles (including 2 double-qualified teachers), and 12 people are studying for master's degrees.
