How about the economics major in Beijing Normal University?
First, the unit introduction

The School of Economics of Beijing Normal University has a strong academic strength as a major in world economy. This major has doctoral programs and four doctoral supervisors, and often undertakes academic research at all levels.

The Master of World Economics has two research directions: international finance research, international trade and international investment research. In the past, American economic direction suspended enrollment because of the retirement of tutors, but if other teachers take over in the future, the possibility of recovery will not be ruled out.

The tutor of the world economy major is rigorous in his studies and generous, and welcomes candidates who are interested in learning at any time. Because there are too many candidates, it is difficult to expect the tutor to answer the candidates' questions or letters one by one, but I believe it will be of great benefit to the candidates if they have the opportunity to consult.

Second, enrollment situation

The School of Economics plans to enroll 17 students every year, but it can get the opportunity to increase the allocation quota almost every year. The actual enrollment is about 22-25 people. On average, there can be 4-6 places in the world economy major (calculated in two directions), but almost one place in the international finance direction is reserved for students who come in, and one place in the international trade and investment direction is often reserved for students who come in. As for the number of applicants, there are more than 200 in the whole school of economics, reaching more than 350 in197. However, since 1998, the number of applicants has declined. The enrollment ratio of world economics majors is about 15: 1 to 20: 1, and the competition is fierce. Basically, you have to get the top one or two in this major and direction before you can determine the public recruitment. The college also has a certain number of self-funded places every year, and the number changes every year, depending on the situation of all parties.

Candidates must comprehensively consider their own strength when applying for a major. We also believe that with careful preparation and proper methods, satisfactory results will be achieved.

Generally speaking, graduates majoring in world economy have better prospects. Students of this major can apply for this major or cross-majors, but for cross-majors, extra specialized courses are required.

Third, the examination subjects and teaching materials

There are five subjects in the examination of world economy: foreign languages, politics and mathematics (Volume IV). Economics, world economy.

Economics includes political economics and western economics, each with 50 points, but sometimes they can't be completely separated in the examination paper. The same topic involves both political economy knowledge and western economics, so sometimes the problems on the same side are deeper and more strictly divided. Originally, when political economy was listed as an examination subject alone, candidates were often eliminated because they failed this course. The examination questions of western economics are generally closely related to teaching materials.

The World Economy Examination includes three courses: international finance, international trade and world economy. Each course has more contents, which undoubtedly increases the difficulty of candidates. Let me introduce the textbooks used in various subjects:

1, Political Economy: The textbook Political Economy compiled by the former Ministry of Education, edited by Wu Shuqing;

2. Western Economics: Modern Western Economics, edited by Professor He Zhang and published by Inner Mongolia University Press;

3. International Finance: International Finance, edited by Professor He Zhang and published by China Finance Publishing House;

4. World Economy: An Introduction to Contemporary World Economy, edited by Professor Yang, and published by Beijing Normal University Press. In addition, due to the emergence of new problems and hotspots in the world economy, candidates should pay more attention to the reports on the trend of the world economy in newspapers, magazines and TV news.

5. International Trade: International Trade, edited by Chen and Xue Rongjiu, published by Foreign Trade Education Press.

It is best for candidates to obtain designated teaching materials through bookstore purchase or other channels. In this way, we can better understand the academic thoughts and preferences of the tutor. The above books contain most of the contents of the exam, but they do not rule out the questions that occasionally exceed the scope of the textbook, which gives candidates with a wide range of knowledge an opportunity.

Fourth, question and answer skills

The questions of the World Economic Examination are divided into four categories: noun explanation, fill in the blank, short answer and discussion. The score ratio is 24: 10: 36: 30, which may change slightly every year.

The major of World Economics has a high demand for candidates' foreign languages, and nouns are often explained in English. The topic is English technical terms or abbreviations, which candidates translate and explain in Chinese. In the fill-in-the-blank exam, I prefer to test the formulas of international trade and international finance, while in the exam of international finance and international trade, I emphasize professional theory more, and the practical content is rarely involved. Among international financial theories, exchange rate theory is especially favored. The content of world economics course is biased towards the development of capitalism after World War II, such as regional economic integration and high-tech development, and the latest hot events in the world economy, such as the financial crisis.

The test questions of economics are divided into three categories: noun explanation, short answer and explanation. The score ratio is 30: 40: 30, which changes slightly every year.

Because the questions in the economics exam are mainly subjective questions, there are many questions that need to be answered by candidates, so the number of questions is relatively large. Therefore, we should pay special attention to the mastery of time during the exam. In the past, there were often candidates who couldn't finish the questions, so don't spend too much time on one question, and of course, don't leave the questions unanswered unnecessarily. The essay questions in economic exams are always combined with practical problems, especially the new practical problems in China's market economy construction, which require candidates to analyze with the basic theory of economics. This requires candidates not only to master a solid theoretical foundation, but also to care about economic problems and phenomena in real life and have the ability to integrate theory with practice.

Five, professional course review experience

Now the competition for postgraduate entrance examination is very fierce. Of course, the sooner you start reviewing, the better, but this is not absolute. For the arrangement of time, everyone has his own situation, and there is no unified model.

For the content of specialized courses, there are still some contents that need to be emphasized. Although compared with the college entrance examination, the postgraduate entrance examination has added some questions that allow candidates to play freely, aiming at examining the comprehensive ability of candidates. However, the postgraduate examination is different from the doctoral examination after all. It makes a comprehensive and detailed examination of the candidates' basic knowledge and requires them to be quite familiar with and master the teaching materials. In the examination questions of specialized courses, there are at least three types of questions: noun explanation, fill-in-the-blank and short-answer questions, focusing on students' mastery of basic knowledge. Of course, candidates have room to play their role, but this free play must be based on solid basic knowledge. Therefore, candidates must spend a lot of time mastering the content of the textbook, and avoid being smart and ambitious. Another question, for the candidates, the comprehensive and extensive knowledge is of course very good, but for them, it is particularly important to grasp the key points of the exam in a short time and understand the style of the exam questions. So it is very beneficial to spend some time doing the questions in the previous exam before the exam. It's best to use your head more when you do the questions, and compare and analyze the questions for several years, so that you can often see some preferences for the style of questions. Previous exam questions can be found in university books or purchased at the Admissions Office of the Graduate School of Beijing Normal University.

The tutors and teachers of master students from the School of Economics of Beijing Normal University who take part in specialized courses in world economy offer specialized courses for undergraduates of this department, such as world economy, international finance, international trade, western economics, political economy and so on. I'm afraid it's impossible for ordinary people to have time to listen to these teachers' lectures, but if you can find the teachers' lecture notes and final exam questions from undergraduates in this department (it's best to find them for more years, especially in the last year), I believe you will benefit a lot. According to the author's analysis, a considerable number of postgraduate entrance examination questions for world economy majors appear in the undergraduate professional course examination. In fact, it is not difficult to understand what academic issues the teacher is paying attention to recently, and his academic thoughts will be reflected through corresponding channels, such as lectures and papers. Teachers' academic thinking is relatively fixed for a period of time. So he will also show the same style and preference when giving lectures and writing papers.

Interview and admission of intransitive verbs

The admission to the School of Economics of Beijing Normal University is strictly based on the principle of high score to low score, without any bias. The admission score of the world economy major should be above 360,70, but it is meaningless to say that the absolute score is too high, because only when you reach the top two or even the first place in your major can you be sure to be admitted at public expense.

The number of people interviewed is usually equal to the number of places admitted. During the interview, take foreign languages and specialized courses. The former is written and the latter is oral. It's not that hard. Generally, there is no big problem, so don't be too nervous. However, some candidates who take part in the interview, especially those who are not admitted to the forefront of this major, may transfer to other majors.
