School of Economics and Management was merged from School of Economics and School of Management of Changsha University of Science and Technology in 2008. At present, the college has six teaching units: financial accounting department, enterprise management department, finance department, management science and engineering department, economy and trade department and experiment center. There are 8 undergraduate majors, including 2 national majors and 3 provincial majors. There are 1 provincial teaching team, 1 key discipline in Hunan province and 4 key research bases of philosophy and social sciences in Hunan province. The college has two first-class master's degree programs in business administration, management science and engineering, and MBA education degree program qualifications; There are 9 master's programs in two disciplines, including accounting, enterprise management, management science and engineering, technical economy and management, educational economy and management, industrial economics, statistics, national economy and finance.
