Guangdong University of Finance and Economics belongs to a university. It is an institution of higher learning featuring law and business, a key university in Guangdong Province, and one of the designated universities in the China-US talent training program of the Ministry of Education 1+2+ 1.

The school has been built into a provincial key university with more than 26,600 full-time undergraduate and master students, and it is an important base for economic, management, legal personnel training, scientific research and social services in Guangdong and even South China.

Guangdong University of Finance and Economics was formally established 1983. At the beginning of the school, it was named "Guangdong University of Finance and Economics", 1985 was renamed as Guangdong Business School, and 20 13 was officially named as Guangdong University of Finance and Economics. Since its establishment, the school has been carrying out undergraduate education. In 2003, the school was recognized as an authorized unit for master's degree, and in 20021year, it was also recognized as a doctoral degree awarding unit.

Guangdong University of Finance and Economics can be referred to as "Guang Cai" or "Guangdong University of Finance and Economics". The school has two campuses, Guangzhou Campus and Foshan Campus, covering an area of more than 2,200 mu. There are 22 secondary colleges and 63 undergraduate enrollment majors.
