China Ocean University, referred to as China Maritime University, formerly known as Qingdao Ocean University, is located in Qingdao, Shandong Province. The school is a key comprehensive university directly under the Ministry of Education, one of the key universities under the "985 Project" and "2 1 1 Project", and was selected as one of the "World-class University Construction Universities" (Class A).
As a member school of Arctic University Alliance, IAMRI Alliance and Ocean University Alliance, it is one of the first units approved by the State Council Academic Degrees Committee to confer doctoral, master's and bachelor's degrees. As of June 5438+February, 2020, the school has three campuses: Laoshan, Yushan and Fushan. The west coast campus of China Ocean University, Shenzhen Research Institute of China Ocean University and Sanya Ocean Research Institute of China Ocean University are under construction.
The school was formerly a private Qingdao University founded by Gao 1924. 1932 was renamed as National Shandong University; 1959 In March, Shandong Ocean University was established on the basis of some departments of Shandong University and was listed as a key comprehensive university directly under the Ministry of Education. 1988 65438+ 10 was renamed Qingdao Ocean University; In 2002, it was renamed China Ocean University.
