Nanjing University of Information Science & Technology is a national "double first-class" construction university and a high-level university construction university in Jiangsu Province. The school was founded in 1960, which was born in response to the national strategy of New China and the needs of national economic construction. It is subordinate to the Meteorological Bureau of the Central Military Commission and formerly known as the Meteorological College of Nanjing University.

Nanjing Institute of Meteorology 1963 was established independently, and 1978 was listed as a national key university. In 2004, the school was renamed Nanjing University of Information Science & Technology. Since 2007, Jiangsu Provincial People's Government, China Meteorological Bureau, Ministry of Education and State Oceanic Administration have been established. Now it is a central and local university mainly managed by Jiangsu Province. The school is located in Jiangbei New District, Nanjing, covering an area of about 2000 mu. At present, there are nearly 30,000 full-time undergraduates, more than 3,000 graduate students and more than 500 international students/kloc-0.

Off-campus cooperation:

The school has successively established cooperative relations in scientific research and personnel training with 48 famous universities such as Yale University, University of Maryland, University of Wisconsin, Detroit Mercy University, University of Edinburgh, University of Reading, University of Toronto, University of Hamburg, Waterford Institute of Technology in Ireland, Queensland University of Technology in Australia, and sent visiting scholars and international students to jointly recruit undergraduate and graduate students.

The school has the qualification of China Municipal Government, Hanban and Jiangsu Provincial Government Jasmine Scholarship to recruit international students. In 2009, the school founded the "Confucius Classroom" of Bahamas College, becoming the fourth university in Jiangsu Province to offer Confucius (classroom) overseas. 20 1 1, "Confucius Classroom" was successfully upgraded to "Confucius Institute".
