Thanks to Professor Huang for accepting our interview during his busy schedule. I am very grateful and honored. I want to ask you, as chairman and organizer, what prompted you to set up this alumni association in the first place? Professor Huang: The establishment of this alumni association is as follows: South China University of Technology has its own alumni association office, which is dedicated to promoting the development of the alumni association; In addition, we have many enthusiastic alumni who have always had this idea and desire; Moreover, the automobile industry in our country has developed to the present level, and I also hope that the exchanges between alumni can make some contributions to our automobile industry. Finally, driven by the will of all parties, this happened. Did you encounter any difficulties in this process? What factors make you confident to overcome these difficulties one by one? Professor Huang: Indeed, I got such great enthusiasm from those alumni. Although they have their own work and life, they are really enthusiastic about the work of this trade association, which makes me very moved. Of course, I also know that this is also an industry feature. The automobile industry not only plays a great role in promoting the economy, but also covers a wide range. In this case, there is such an opportunity that many people have the same language and goals. People from the same background can walk together, and we are all alumni, which is very helpful to everyone. Yes, we see that the current alumni have OEM, after-sales market, spare parts suppliers and so on. And then some of them have gone to enterprises with academic background. What kind of positive effect and influence do you think its establishment will have on the future industry? Professor Huang: I think, in fact, judging from the enthusiasm of everyone at today's meeting, it has already reflected such a huge development potential to a great extent. Automobile industry is a very important field and a pillar industry in China. The field involved is one of several pillar industries of the country, and then one of several pillar industries of Guangdong Province. It is also an area where China Manufacturing hopes to create achievements through transformation and upgrading in 2025. Therefore, we believe that this matter not only conforms to the national goal, but also conforms to the wishes of the majority of alumni and the development goals of the school. As far as the school is concerned, what changes will the establishment of the Alumni Association have on the cultivation of students? Professor Huang: I believe this can be reflected in some different ways, including the research direction of this full-time undergraduate, master or doctor, and even the adjustment of the project content of this master of engineering, which will have direct help and set some examples for students. Many alumni of South China University of Technology in the industry are doing very well and will invite alumni to visit the school. This is a good interaction. Yes, the school continues to support alumni, and alumni continue to give back to the school, forming a virtuous circle. The last question is the future development trend of the automobile industry. What's your opinion? Because it is electrified and intelligent now, what kind of development will this automobile industry have in the future, such as five years or ten years? Professor Huang: Yes, this trend is actually quite subversive. In the past, how could a car leave the engine? Now there are many electric cars without engines, and then there are cars that no one drives, that is, smart cars. Everyone is equipped with an invisible driver. These great changes will have a great effect on social progress and economic development. In fact, the essence of these intelligences is to make everyone's life easier. Therefore, both products and services can bring great vitality to the entire automobile industry. Yes, thank you very much for accepting our invitation today. I hope the alumni association will be better and better. Thank you. On May 19, South China University of Technology Automobile Industry Alumni Association was formally established. While witnessing another milestone in the automobile industry and South China University of Technology, we are also fortunate to invite the first president, Mr. Huang Xiangdong, to accept our exclusive interview.
