This school has a long history. It can be traced back to the University Department of Wenhua College founded by 1903 (Wenhua College was founded by 187 1 and renamed as Huazhong University by 1924) and the Chinese University founded by 19 12. 1985 was renamed Huazhong Normal University, and the name of the school was inscribed by Comrade Deng Xiaoping, one of the founders of Zhongyuan University.
