Jinqiao College of Kunming University of Science and Technology was founded in 200 1. It is a full-time undergraduate (state-owned) independent college sponsored by Kunming University of Science and Technology, invested by Yunnan Urban Construction Investment Group Co., Ltd., a large state-owned enterprise in Yunnan Province, audited by Yunnan Provincial Department of Education and approved by the Ministry of Education.

The school is located in Kunming, with four seasons like spring, south of colorful clouds. At present, it has two campuses, Gaoxin and Airport, covering an area of 606 mu with a total construction area of 555,700 square meters. With the design concept of "ecological environment, gardening and campus informatization", the school creates an elegant learning and living atmosphere according to the European and American architectural styles of the academy.
